Colorless crystals or white power, compound of equal quantity of dextro-rotatory and levo-rotatory tartaric acid, containing one or two molecule crystalline water and losting water when heated to 100C. Odorless, with acidic taste, stable in air, relative density 1.697. Its solubility in water is (20.60g/100g), in ether is about 1% and 5.01 in ethanol(25 degree). |

| Application: |
| Widely used in food, medicine, chemistry and light industry,etc., mainly used to manufacturetartaric acid salts, such as potassimonytartrate (diuretic), potassium soldium tartrate (dilter salt) and used asbeer foaming agent. Also applied in tanning, photo, glass, enamel andtelecom materials industries.Its acidity is as 1.3 times as citric acid,so specially as acidifying agent for grape juice. |
